Happy Little Stampers Case The Designer April 2016...Sending Hugs and Happy Thoughts

Hello and happy April.  I'm here to post a card for Happy Little Stampers Case the Designer challenge.

This month, I am providing the inspiration card, and I used a partial coloring technique to add interest to my card while keeping it very Clean and Simple.

I started with Beautiful Day stamps from Altenew.  I just love these flowers, and how the multi-step layers let me I can get the look of coloring without actually coloring.

I started by stamping just the outline images onto a card front.  I then cut out the center of my card front using a stitched rectangle die.  I made sure that some of each image would extend beyond my center cut out.

Then I stamped the colored layers only on the middle section of my card.  You could also do this with any stamp, even if it were not a multi-step stamp, by simply only coloring the middle section.

Finally, I put the card front back together, and popped up the middle with fun foam.

Our challenge will run for the entire month of April.  I hope you will play along.  Please head over to the Happy Little Stampers Case the Designers blog to see more inspiration from the rest of the design team.

The 12 Kits of Occasions: March, 2016

It's time for our March 12 Kits of Occasions post.  This month, Michelle is our hostess, and she sent a wonderful and enormous kit, filled with bunnies galore and just screaming spring. Her theme is Spring Fling, and I had so much fun playing with everything in the kit.

Of course, I have lots of leftovers as well. I can't wait to see what everyone else did with their supplies so I can CASE them with my leftovers.

Here is a peek at the kit Michelle sent out.

And here are the four cards I made this month:

I used so many of the elements in this kit, but still have so much left over.  And, if you are wondering about those bunny die cuts and the basket weave background, they are both from Frantic Stamper. Thanks so much, Michelle, for sending such a wonderful kit.

That's it for me today.  Please visit us over at the 12 Kits of Occasions blog, where you can see a list of all the other designers and click over to their blogs.

Time Out #53...The Right Shoes

Hello and welcome to another challenge at Time Out.  This week, we are inspired by words:

A woman is like a tea bag - you can't tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water. --Eleanor Roosevelt

I love that quote.  It makes me want to make a card to encourage a friend to be strong and feel like they can do anything.

I pulled out a super old SU set It's a Girl Thing and stamped the row of shoes a couple of times. Colored and fussy cut the shoes and then arranged them randomly in my circular window.

I sponged a bit of distress ink in the window before attaching the shoes.  It kind of looks like my shoes are tumbling in the dryer or something.  I paired those shoes with one of my favorite sentiments, from PTI Green Thumb.

We had a bit of a scheduling snafu, so this challenge is only running for one week.  So, hurry and play along right away!  Don't delay, unless it is to go shoe shopping.  Then, come back and play along.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Elaine.

CASology Week #191: Washi

This is my second post today.  If you are looking for my ColourQ post, please click here.

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is
Washi.  OK, fess up....do you have an enormous collection of Washi tape that is hardly ever used?  If this is you (and it definitely is me), then you are in luck this week.

I took two a few pieces of Washi and used them as a backdrop to ground my die cut sentiment.

I fussy cut another piece of the sentiment, added a few sequins, and my CAS card was done.

Now, it's your turn.  How does Washi inspire you?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

ColourQ #335....Happy Wishes

If you are looking for my CASology post, please click here.

Happy Tuesday and welcome to a new challenge at ColourQ.

We have a new set of colors for you this week.  I thought they looked like spring flowers, so that is where I went with the colors.

I recently bought WPlus9 Happy Wishes, and was just itching to ink it up.  I used a combination of WPlus9 (Sweet Nectar, Ocean Drive) and Hero Arts (Orange Soda, Mint Julip) inks for my colors this week.

Please head on over to the ColourQ challenge blog to see more inspiration from the design team. I hope you will join in the fun and play along this week.

Make it Monday Happy Birthday

I have one card to share today--I finally received my March PTI order and used Script Swirls Birthday to make this quick card using the technique shared in Make it Monday #243.

After white heat embossing my sentiment, I blended and sponged Squeezed Lemon and Picked Raspberry Distress ink.

I also stamped some of the smaller splatter images from the set in the same colors of Distress ink.  I prefer to stamp splatters, as it gives me much more control.

Friend and Awesome

I am popping in quickly to post a couple of cards that have been sitting on my desk, patiently awaiting their turn to post--the challenge is ending for one of the cards, so I am posting tonight.

My first card is inspired by the lovely Muse card made by my friend Tracey for Muse Challenge #158.

I was inspired by Tracey's white embossing, water coloring, the shape of the petals/leaves of her stamp, and her CAS design.

I decided to use Mama Elephant Tree Friends because the tree top kind of reminded me of the flower cluster on Tracey's card.  I love how delicate this tree top is, and water colored it with a variety of pink Distress Inks.

I am also entering this card at Addicted to CAS #84: Delicate.

This is the first time I am playing along with a yummy challenge...Cupcake Inspirations #352.   They are sponsored by Verve, so I decided to pull out some Verve stamps to play along.

The inspiration is a color challenge, and I have used Ripe Avocado paper for the 'awesome' die cut, which I stacked 4 high, and WPlus9 Mojito and Wild Mango inks.

I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #186: Anything Goes.

PTI March 2016 Blog Hop

All the inspiration photos for this month's PTI Blog Hop centered around embroidering, so I decided to pull out Embroidered Blooms for my card.

I pulled out some colors that I don't normally use together, but seemed to work on this card--Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides, Berry Sorbet and Bright Buttercup.  I fussy cut the flowers, because I wanted them to be small.

I added texture with the Aida impression plate.

I'm off to see what everyone else made.  Enjoy the hop.

Time Out #52...Reminder...Sending Birthday Hugs & Wishes

There is still time to play along with our CASE with a twist challenge at Time Out.  Our inspiration is this gorgeous card from Marjan.

I was inspired again by Marjan's flowers and colors.  I decided to use water directly on my stamps. After inking up my stamps, I sprayed the stamp with water before stamping.

My flowers are from PTI Mum's the Word and the sentiment is from PTI Stylish Sentiments Birthday.

I am linking this card up at Addicted to Stamps and More #186 Anything Goes.

I hope that you will take some Time Out to play along with us over the next two weeks.  Please see the Time Out challenge blog to see more inspiration from the Design Team.
